We have seen dragon fruit once or twice in America, but we always see them in the produce section of the grocery store here. They seem to be more common here, and much cheaper than in the states. Since none of us had ever tried one and we had always wanted to, I bought one and brought it home. The kids were really excited to be to try it out.
We didn't know what it would look like on the inside, but it didn't disappoint. This fruit is so exotic and the kids were almost jumping up and down as I cut it up. We eat took a small slice and tried it. For all of its bright colors and flamboyant look, the taste was a little disappointing. Good, but the taste didn't match up to its look. But, now we can say that we have tried dragon fruit!
