Tuesday, March 17th--Tonight, we had a Japanese feast and celebrated Raymond's 40th birthday. It was a quiet celebration, but considering that we are in Japan, that's just the way it was. Raymond worked all day and came home to a special birthday dinner that the kids and I had made for him.
We broke out some of the pretty Japanese dishes that I have gathered thus far to use for the occasion. We had fresh pineapple, sushi, rice, stuffed mushrooms, and yaki niku. It was too much food and we ate too much! For dessert, we also had small containers of gelato (ice cream is SO expensive here!), chocolates, and a peach tart.
Happy 40th birthday!! We love you!
