Sunday, March 15th--We had kind of an interesting and unique thing happen here in the last few weeks. Within a month of each other, we had two apostles for our church come and visit our ward. Elder Ballard came first and spoke to our ward, and Elder Nelson spoke to us tonight in a special devotional. There wasn't a specific reason, other than Elder Nelson's daughter is a member of our ward and he was visiting her. This is not something that happens regularly in this ward.
Both times we were sitting just a few rows from the front, since Raymond and a few of the kids stayed after church and saved our seats until the devotional started at 6:30 p.m. Elder Ballard was suffering from jetlag pretty badly when he came, so he didn't shake hands with the congregation after he spoke to us. However, Elder Nelson and Sister Nelson did shake our hands. It was a special experience for the kids to be able to shake the hand of an apostle of the Lord. The kids had testimony building experiences in being able to briefly talk to him and shake his hand. This was a pretty special thing for us! Here we are so far from church headquarters, and yet, we were able to see two apostles within a few weeks of each other!
